I offer a calm, welcoming space for you to explore your situation. Listening, noticing, asking questions and investigating with you, I will help you sense into where you are, make sense of what you find, and try out new ways of seeing or being. Whatever brings you to therapy, we will work collaboratively to address your own unique struggles and strengths, personality and history, whilst keeping in mind the impact of the norms, practices, pressures and prejudices of the wider world that also impact us all.

I work in a trauma-informed way, treating mind and body as a single, overarching system. This may include taking into consideration the presence of trans-generational trauma (https://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/articles/understanding-generational-trauma). Whilst I make use of neuroscientifically-informed understandings of our psychological development in childhood and adolescence, and of the functioning of the human nervous system throughout life, I work in an open, individually-orientated way, rather than offering one-size-fits-all tools. I don’t undertake diagnosis, though I respect the fact that some people come with diagnoses and find having them very helpful.

My style of being is natural, warm and friendly, and I welcome whatever arises, including humour and irreverence, as these qualities can provide a light that makes exploring the darkest corners of experience bearable. The fit between a client and therapist matters, and I know I can’t be the right therapist for everyone, so I have included a list of places where you can find other therapists in the Resources section of this website.
